Persist

I’m hear Him say, “Persist.”

Definition of persist:

1

to go on resolutely or stubbornly in spite of opposition, importunity, or warning

2

obsolete to remain unchanged or fixed in a specified character, condition, or position

3

to be insistent in the repetition or pressing of an utterance (such as a question or an opinion)

4

to continue to exist especially past a usual, expected, or normal time

 “Persisting is something you will continue to do as you walk with me. Sometimes the winds will blow against us but it will only build your endurance. When the winds change, there will be a great deal of ease as we continuing to move forward in step with one another. This is a time of persistence. Move forward clinging to me and I will remove the obstacles one by one. Persistence may not seem glamorous or glorious but the glory is revealed after our brief suffering. I persisted when I went to the cross. You persist as you continue to abide, obey, and join in my suffering becoming like me in my death.

The church, my Kingdom, will persist.

Persistence is crucial to overcoming. You must continue to stand even when weariness and discouragement try to steal from you. Do not sit on the bench. Like athletes must persist towards the end of a hard fought game. Though physically spent they must not quit. You must seek me all the more and wait on me to renew your strength. Don’t go back to your old ways of handling weariness. Come to me and I will support you and strengthen you effectively.

Remember you don’t overcome in your own strength. You overcome by my Spirit. ‘Not by power nor by might, but by my Spirit’ says the Lord. Zechariah 4:6b

This is a season of persistence because there are many things opposing you strongly. You need to resist and persist in my call and not allow the schemes of the enemy to disqualify you. There are times when the enemy sees your impending breakthrough and it seems as if all of hell is resisting. You must persist for your liberation and for those who will be saved through you. When it feels like the heat is getting turned up and the intensity of warfare is rising it’s time to buckle down in me. Cling to my Word. (Jeremiah 13:11) Abide in my love. Rehearse the Rhema promises. Dedicate more time to being alone with me in prayer like Daniel did. Let the pressing of circumstances produce oil and strengthen you.”

Isaiah 43:2

When you pass through the waters,

    I will be with you;

and when you pass through the rivers,

    they will not sweep over you.

When you walk through the fire,

    you will not be burned;

    the flames will not set you ablaze.

Matthew 24:13: "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved"
1 Peter 1:3-6: "They that are saved are kept by the power of God, through faith unto salvation"
Romans 2:7: "To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life"

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
