You Cannot Mingle the Law and GRACE

I hear the Lord say to the heavy, weary ones:  (9.10.23)

“You’ve allowed religious obligation to crowd out the freedom and grace it takes to walk in my Spirit. You find yourself never measuring up. Not doing enough. Always disappointed in yourself. Always trying harder. Walking in this world with me is meant to be fun! It’s a journey of exploration and adventure, not burden carrying. My yoke is easy, my burden is light. There is a divine exchange when you come to feast with me at my table. I take your heaviness and give you my lightness. 

You are not to function from performance. You are to receive from me and overflow with love and faith and pour it out on those around you like a sprinkler. Your energy comes from union with me. If you try to figure it all out apart from me, you’re eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. This will leave you exhausted and hopeless. In this state, you’re being burdened by the law and your inability to achieve your own salvation. No matter how hard you try, you will never measure up. You are like a wind up you, being cranked by the deceiver to do, do, do! 

You need to embrace my mercy and grace, to rest from striving. You received my salvation through faith by MY GRACE. “Before you were led astray, you were so faithful. Who has deceived you so that you have turned from what is right?” Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬ ‭TPT‬‬

You were leaning on me, now you find yourself leaning on your own understanding. If it’s not faith in my finished work, you are double minded in all you do just as it says in James “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;” James‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

You cannot mingle the law and grace, for only grace is based upon the promise of new life. 

“But what does Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.” Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.” Galatians‬ ‭4‬:‭30‬-‭31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

What I’m trying to say is- you must choose to walk in freedom from religious obligation. Religious obligation, legalism, is like quick sand. It will swallow you up and immobilize you so you cannot walk in my Spirit. You will build much in religious obligation but, not anything that can withstand. Come once again, lay aside the filthy rags of your own self-righteousness and put on these pure white robes of my righteousness. Come sit on my lap child and receive. It starts with surrender. It starts with receiving my love. It’s so simple. Really, it is. That’s why Paul calls my gospel offensive- as it says in Galatians: 

“Dear friends, why do you think the religious system persecutes me? Is it because I preach the message of being circumcised and keeping all the laws of Judaism? Not at all! Is there no longer any offense over the cross?” Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Because relationship with me is free for you. “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.” Isaiah 55:1 

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

“For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” But you were unwilling,”       Isaiah‬ ‭30‬:‭15‬ ‭ESV‬‬
