Surrender it ALL

 

I hear Him say: (5.2.23) 

 “It’s ok to not be ok. Stay close to me. Let me draw you close as we walk together, tucked safely into my side. 

Surrender it all at my feet. Don’t let the distractions pull you away from my presence. IN ME is the tree of life and fullness of joy. You cannot find it in the other things you pursue. 

As you seek me with intentionality, every other hinderance will begin to just fall right off. Run to me and leave all else behind. Those things don’t serve you anymore. You’re not to wear your old garments or work your former occupations. You’re a new person now. I’m calling you to new heights in the Spirit. That means the old must be left behind. 

You can’t have a little Jesus and a little everything else in this world. That’s compromise. That is not true surrender. That’s double-mindedness. That is not the foundation I want you to build on. There are to be no muddied waters in your heart. I’m coming to purify with my winnowing fork, but you must answer my call and draw close, closer than you’ve ever been before, closer even than you ever expected to go. 

My oil is costly. You must make it the one thing you’re after more than anything else. Your heart must be set on pilgrimage. (Psalm 84:5) Peace comes when you’re completely surrendered. Joy comes when you’ve turned from the things of this world to me, who can truly satisfy. 

You may have others fooled, but I know your heart. I know the areas in your heart where you’re still running after other lovers. Let me search your heart and reveal the false idols. Don’t put other things, people, or devotionals between us.  Come to me directly. I want to speak to your heart. You have full access behind the veil. There is nothing that can separate us. Turn down the noise and seek my face. 

I can see you by the roadside sitting in the ditch of depression and isolation. It can only hold you back as long as you let it reign over you. It’s there because you’ve allowed lies of defeat to filter into your mindset. Don’t allow them to take up residence. You must clean the temple out with zeal like I did. Don’t leave any table unturned. It’s time for an awakening- an awakening to your true identity and authority in my kingdom. If you want this renewed mindset, it will take coming to me daily and seeking my way instead of the ways of the world and following my every instruction. My ways are radical and counter cultural. (Romans 12:2) 

You can keep going the way you’ve been going but, I’m warning you- there will be rocky ground and thorns along that path. Eventually you will call for me to rescue you from the consequences of following the ways of this world. (Proverbs 14:12) 

I’m calling you out now to experience the abundant life available only under my tree of rest. (Song of Songs 2:3) I’m calling you out of the rat-race of competition and strife and into the resting place of my heart. 

There is a dove-like-peace that dwells on your shoulder as you abide in me. That’s what I offer you today- A tranquility beyond your understanding. 

You, like Elijah, have not found me in the whirlwind, you find me in the still small voice. (1 Kings 19:11-13) Not only will you find my shalom shalom, perfect peace, but you will find the direction you’ve been looking for and a removal of all heaviness and fear. 

So, put aside all selfish ambition and come make your home in my heart again today. Allow yourself to rest and be refreshed in my love. Come like Naaman and dip yourself in the cleansing waters again and again. Humble yourself before me and I will lift you up. (1 Peter 5:6)

Come to me and LIVE. (Isaiah 55:3) Let my rivers of life flow into you and revive you. (Psalm 46:4, Jeremiah 2:13)
