Let Me Lighten Your Load

To my ones carrying burdens,

You are blessed, highly favored, and dearly loved! I wrap my loving arms around you. There is nothing and no one who can separate you from my love. I love to dance with you and enjoy your presence. It’s not complicated. It’s about presence with me. Everything good flows from time in my presence. It’s important you take time to just be with me and hear my heart for you. If you’re rested, calmed and quieted, rooted and grounded in my love you are strong. You can handle the things that come your way with grace and empowerment to overcome any obstacle. Nothing can separate you from my love. Let’s stay in union today. Let’s walk together through these matters and see my love conquer all.

 I hold nothing back from you. I want you to receive all of me. Not just a little shot to get you through the day.  I want you to overflow. You were meant to come to the river of my love and stay in! You can stay in the river, floating down this river on an innertube of my grace, unimpeded by the troubles of this world. Daniel knew this. That is why, despite his responsibilities, he took time everyday dedicated to praying to me. In my presence is a respite from the chaos and tug of war of the world. I give the antidote. My peace I give to you, not as the world gives. There will be trouble, but in me, you’ve overcome! You’re not striving for victory, you’ve already received it by my blood on the cross! You are learning to walk out the victory I’ve given you. Follow me in this victory procession. 

Are the responsibilities of the world shouting at you? I’ve called you to live higher than the pressures of this world. Just like my children I freed from a yoke of slavery in Egypt, I’ve done this for you. “I took the heavy load off your back. You no longer had to carry those heavy baskets.” (Psalm 81:6 EASY)

I have freed you from a yoke of slavery. A yoke of slavery to traditions of man that would give you a form of godliness but deny its power. 

“Jesus replied, ‘it will be very bad for you teachers of God’s law as well. You give rules to people to obey. Those rules are like things that are too heavy for people to carry. You do not even help people carry them. Not even with one finger do you help them!” (Luke 11:46 EASY)

I’m showing you that these rules of man-made tradition are not my best for you. They weigh you down with a burden I never meant for you to carry. I came to set you free! 

Come to me all of you who are tired. You are like people who have worked for a long time. You are like people who have carried heavy things. Come to me. If you do that, you will find a place of rest. Do what I teach you to do. Listen to my message and learn from me what is true. I am very kind and I do not make myself important. I will help. Then you will have peace in your mind. I will not tell you to do things that are too difficult. I will not tell you to carry anything that is too heavy for you.” (Matthew 11:28-30 EASY)

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take  a real rest. Walk with me and work with me-watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matthew 11:28-30 MSG) 

If you can walk out this life for me without relying on faith and my Spirit to guide you, then you’ve stepped off the path I have for you. I am your teacher. If your traditions and striving make you feel in control, then you’ve stepped off the path. I am your teacher. If you’re leaning on your own understanding, the way that seems “right to man,” then you’ve stepped off the path, I am your teacher. 

“Some people say to me, “Master, Master!” But not all of them will come into the kingdom of heaven. Only the people who obey God, my Father in heaven, will come in. They do what He wants them to do.” (Matthew 7:21 EASY) 

These people have begun to listen to a voice other than their one true shepherd. 

“You were running [the race] well; who has interfered and prevented you from obeying the truth?  This [deceptive] persuasion is not from Him who called you [to freedom in Christ]. A little leaven [a slight inclination to error, or a few false teachers] leavens the whole batch [it perverts the concept of faith and misleads the church]. I have confidence in you in the Lord that you will adopt no other view [contrary to mine on the matter]; but the one who is disturbing you, whoever he is, will have to bear the penalty.” (Gal. 5:7-10)

“For you, my brothers, were called to freedom; only do not let your freedom become an opportunity for the sinful nature (worldliness, selfishness), but through love serve and seek the best for one another. For the whole Law [concerning human relationships] is fulfilled in one precept, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, you shall have an unselfish concern for others and do things for their benefit].” (Gal. 5:13-14)

“But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts]. (Gal. 5:16)

“But if you are guided and led by the Spirit, you are not subject to the Law.” (Gal. 5:18)

I’ve come to call you out of this world. Separate yourself. Consecrate yourself to me as a living sacrifice. Do not be conformed any longer to the patterns of this world but be transformed by allowing me to renew your mind. 

“He said, ‘I tell you this, you must change and become like little children. If not, you will never come into the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:3 EASY) 

Look in the mirror. Did you enter my kingdom like a child in faith and humility? Go back to that place of childlikeness and allow me to teach you once again.
