Dispelling Darkness with Praise
2.7.23
As I was sitting with the Lord this morning- he showed me a picture of watering other people like one would water plants. As I saw this I knew they were being watered with the Word of God and with praise, celebrating the goodness of God in them, the way I see it is celebrating their attributes and attitudes that bring God glory. In this place of them receiving the watering of his Word and praise they were blossoming. He wants to water you this morning with praise and with His Word. In that place he wants to fill you up so you can overflow and pour out on those around you as well!
Even those who feel unlovable to you, undeserving of praise, who maybe aren’t walking with him, or claiming to be his followers. Ask him to show you how he sees them and what you can celebrate in them.
Evangelism doesn’t have to be some riddle that’s too hard to solve it can be simple rejoicing in someone, celebrating them and speaking forth what God is showing you in His word in that moment for them.
“This means the one who plants is not anybody special, nor the one who waters, for God is the one who brings the supernatural growth. Now, the one who plants and the one who waters are equally important and on the same team, but each will be rewarded for his own work. We are coworkers with God and you are God’s cultivated garden, the house he is building.” (1 Corinthians 3:7-9 TPT)
So my encouragement today is to sit at His feet- receiving his gentleness, humility, and compassion for yourself first in all your areas of weakness. Let him celebrate you and open up his Word to you. Then go out and celebrate everyone around you indiscriminately. The light in your heart will dispel darkness as you praise Him and praise others! I found this out as I studied praise this morning- one word for praise in Hebrew is halal - which literally means to shine or to flash forth light. When we praise God and others we flash forth light and we shine, bringing Him glory!
