Tell Me Where it Hurts
“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” (Psalms 23:4 NLT)
I hear him say, (1.23.23)
For those of you feeling like the rod and the staff are there to punish you, you are wrong!
“Love never brings fear, for fear is always related to punishment. But love’s perfection drives the fear of punishment far from our hearts. Whoever walks constantly afraid of punishment has not reached love’s perfection.” (1 John 4:18 TPT)
My rod and my staff are there to protect and comfort you. To defend you from forces of evil out to attack you. I am the good shepherd, you are my sheep. Come closer to me, your shepherd. Don’t fear my rod. I took that rod upon my back so you wouldn’t have to. “God has not destined you for wrath, but salvation through our Lord Jesus.” (1 Thess. 5:9-10) Allow me to show you my scars and know I would never hurt you. A bruised reed I will not break, and a smoldering wick I will not put out. I will bring justice to all who are wronged. (Isaiah 42:3) I am meek, gentle, and lowly of heart toward you. (Matthew 11:28) I care about you, so give me your troubles. (1 Peter 5:7) I want to take your pain. I will! If you will give it to me at the foot of the cross. Come and gaze upon me on the cross and see me take all that’s paining you there.
He gave me this poem/song for you: (I see him as a parent asking you, his young child)
“Tell me where it hurts”
Tell me where is hurts.
I see you walking wounded.
I know. I feel your pain.
Tell me where it hurts
Tell me where it hurts
I am your healer, I am redeemer
I put it back together again and again.
You can trust me, my friend.
I’m with you till the end.
Let’s start over, let’s try again.
From the beginning, it’s you and me now
New mercies, my friend
No shame now
Let’s start over, let’s begin again
It’s a clean and good, a bright and sunny day.
Come and hold my hand, I’m with you till the end.
Kaeley ♡
