It’s A Choice, Not A Chore
I hear him say to the weary discouraged ones, (1.20.23)
“I’m at work here. I’m at work everywhere in your life. There isn’t a place I refuse to work for your good. I love to help you. I’m your ever present help in times of need, remember? (Psalm 46:1) I lift you up when you’re feeling down. I’m the lifter of your head. (Psalm 3:3) Simply rest in my comfort and support this day. Rest your weary head on my shoulder. I’m taking care of the details. Don’t fret. Simple rest. In returning and rest you are saved. In quietness and trust is your strength. (Isaiah 30:15) Be still and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10) Come! Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that I may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Me, for I care for you! (1 Peter 5:6-7)
Open your eyes to my goodness all around you in my creation. Don’t let it pass your notice. See every good and perfect gift I’m pouring out on you. (James 1:17) Spy into all the treasures I’ve surrounded you with. If you need to- make a running list of all the things that I’ve brought to you to bring you joy even seemingly small insignificant things, like toilet paper. In thankfulness your awareness of my presence will heighten and your prayer life will be take to new heights. It’s not a chore to be thankful, it’s a choice with so many rewards! The rewards far outweigh the effort, I promise. Out of my fullness I’ve provided you with grace heaped upon grace. (John 1:16) It never runs out! This flow of my support and favor never ends. Come and receive from my fullness today.
Receive the refreshing fresh wind of my Spirit to lift you up and plant you on your feet again stronger than before. This second wind is going to hit your Spirit and you’ll feel like running in victory the way Elijah did, running ahead of Ahab’s chariot. (1 Kings 18:46) The power of the Lord will come upon you as it did Elijah. Feel this fresh wind begin to bolster your sails. The winds are blowing to push you forward now. The winds are not against you pushing you back any more. They’re propelling you now into the fullness of your destiny. Just surrender to me. It’s not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit." (Zech. 4:6)
