Burning Love is Holy Surrender
“And he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy, everyone who has been recorded for life in Jerusalem, when the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodstains of Jerusalem from its midst by a spirit of judgment and by a spirit of burning. Then the Lord will create over the whole site of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud by day, and smoke and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory there will be a canopy. There will be a booth for shade by day from the heat, and for a refuge and a shelter from the storm and rain.”
Isaiah 4:3-6 ESV
“By the Judging Spirit and by the Burning Spirit, the Lord (Adonai) will wash away the filth from the churches of Christ—even bloodstains. The Hebrew word for “Spirit” can also be translated “breath” or “blast.” The blast of justice and the blast of fire are coming to cleanse God’s people. This Spirit of Judgment releases holy vision to see things as God sees them. Decisions will be made by the justice of God, not the prejudices of men. It is not that he merely executes judgment but that he demonstrates perfect discernment to see what is holy and what is not. This Spirit of fire (a possible reference to the baptism of fire, Matt. 3:11) will thoroughly cleanse God’s remnant and make them holy by refining fire (Mal. 3:2–4). A fire of passionate love for Jesus Christ will cleanse the church. The fire of love as a seal over our hearts will keep us pure from temptation and end-time distractions (Song. 8:6).” *Footnote from the passion translation bible
I hear the Lord say: (12.22.22)
I’m drawing your heart to my desires. (Psalm 37:4) I want you to BURN for me. (Song. 8:6) Your desire to burn with love and devotion comes from my heart. I’m awakening this knowledge of your need to burn within your spirit. A healthy dose of affection my heart is pouring into your heart. Affection is what kindles the burn. When you seek me with all your heart you will find me. (Jeremiah 29:13) Seeking is a full time occupation. It’s priority, it’s Mary at my feet. (Luke 10:38-42) I don’t want you to run after other things. (Psalms 16:4) I want you to sit and receive and be real with me. (Matthew 11:28) In receiving you will be transformed into my likeness and actually be able to step into all I’ve called you to do. (2 Corinthians 3:18) It’s easier than it seems. (Romans 12:1-2) Once you’ve put to death the old manner of living, my spirit has room to guide you on paths bathed in butter, ease. (Job 29:6) There is a grace which provides ease. (John 1:16) After the curtain call of the grave, I infuse you with resurrection life that empowers you to go beyond your limitations. (Romans 6:10-11, Ephesians 3:19-21)
It’s in dying, you live. (Galatians 2:20, 5:24, 2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 Corinthians 15:31) Burning, is holy surrender. It’s “all in” allegiance. It’s supernatural affection. It’s supernatural devotion- the same devotion and affection the martyrs walked in.
I’m causing my bride to burn for more of me in their midst. The want demands my heavenly response. The burning sparks revival fires. It’s in the burning my holy ones are commissioned into their calling. It’s my Spirit being poured out in the upper room. The burning fuels evangelism. The burning fuels intimacy and kills compromise, religion and legalism.
“So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see.”
Revelation 3:16, 18 ESV
