Am I Not Enough?
I hear the Lord ask, “Aren’t I more than enough for you?” (Psalm 16:11, Psalm 73:26) You were running such a good race. Who made you stumble? (Galatians 5:7) Don’t exalt the worries of this world over my finished work on Calvary. Behold the lamb and the ultimate victory!
“Come and receive from me my hope, my comfort, my joy. (Romans 15:13) You will not leave empty. A phone cannot charge unless plugged in. You can be very near the outlet, but not charging. Come to me and let me fill you with my life once again. It’s in me you live, move and have your being. (Acts 17:28) Apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5) You whither and are scorched by the hot sun.
I see you like Hagar in the wilderness looking for water. I will reveal to you the eternal source that can quench your thirst, it’s found in me. (Revelation 7:17) I am the water. Don’t build your own broken cistern. (Jeremiah 2:13) Come to me. Let me take off your burdens and your heavy yoke. (Matthew 11:28) Learn to rest in me. I see you rushing around avoiding the pain deep inside, come to me, and give it to me, bring it to the cross. Let me love on you there and remove the pain until only a testimony of my goodness resides there. (Isaiah 35) Come bow low, offer all your expectations and disappointments on the altar. Lay it all down. Acknowledge them and remember my goodness! Thank me for all I’ve done and all I’ve promised to do. Ask me to renew your mind and give you new lenses to see my goodness gobble up the negatives.
Let me crown you with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear and you will be filled with joy and gladness (Isaiah 35:10) as you choose to praise and bring an offering of thanksgiving even in the process.
