I'm Calling You to More

I’m training you to walk in the Spirit. I’m drawing you up higher than those around you. 

You’re beginning to soar to new heights. I’m calling you out of the crowd. There are greater places for you and I to go. You must come with me to the mountain of myrrh, the hill of frankincense. Like Moses went up the mountain and was sustained by me, I’m calling you up now to commune with me alone. 

It’s time to leave the old way behind. It’s time, like Abraham, to follow me to a new land. 

I’m calling you to come alone. I want this to be an intimate journey. Just you and I, hand-in-hand. I can take your loved ones on this journey one-on-one, but this venture right now has to be only you and I. You can’t remain at a distance, hiding behind another. I’m calling you out and up. I’m speaking to you, directly. You need to become even more acquainted with my voice. You need to lean on me completely. Though others may not go with you, you must not turn back. 

This next step in your walk is crucial. If you want to continue unhindered you must enter through me and me alone. 

It’s time to lay down the “Isaacs”, the things that have stolen your affection away from me. It’s time to put me first again and forsake the pull of this world. 

I’m calling you to deeper consecration. I want ALL of you. I’m waking you up. 

It may not seem fun to leave behind the old and resist the pull of this world. It may feel like swimming against the current. This is only half true. Yes, there will be a resistance to the old way. But my greater grace is within you. My Spirit is greater. It’s easier than it seems. At first there is a pressing, like child birth, then breaking through. Once you’ve surrendered to the pressing, I provide the oil. Once you have the oil, there is smoothness and ease. 

There are two ways to look at it. You can look at this mountain as daunting or see it the way I do- with great excitement and anticipation! I know you were made to tread on the heights. This will test your stamina, but it will prove your faith to be genuine. You will endure your cross looking at the joy set out before you, like I did mine. This pressing will give you access to  a greater measure of my glory. Like a car runs on gasoline you will run on my glory. It will begin to be made manifest in you for the world to see. Like Moses’ face shone from my presence, so your face will be radiant. 

You’re a new creation now, so different from the world. You are made into Christ’s likeness, as a “life-giving spirit being.” They will want to investigate you like they would an alien species. They will scratch their heads in amazement and their hearts will begin to burn with desire for what you carry. You will be a sign and a wonder- pointing people to me. 

What was so unnatural before when sharing the gospel will flow from you with ease. You will be overflowing with the passion of my heart- to seek and save the lost- joining in my ministry of reconciliation. You will carry my message of forgiveness and mercy and freedom to the those trapped in bondage. But first, you will receive an inner makeover from me. Intimacy with me must preceed ministry. I call you to come and die to the old, so when they see you, they see me.
